Eights are often leaders in one way or another as they are not afraid of a challenge and of taking on authority. If they are healthy they tend to be concerned with justice and use their considerable energy to fight for the underdog, the downtrodden or those less able to speak up and defend themselves. We see all this very strongly in Martin Luther King and I could have chosen many quotes but this one is straight to the point.
