Words of Wisdom from a Five

Fives have a way of looking at things, of seeing, that can be entirely original and have a clarity about it that can have the rest of us also looking at things differently. There is a perceptiveness and a discernment that can push barriers and open new worlds. I think we see all of this in the above quote from Laurie Anderson which I love because it is mind-blowing and poetic and insightful all at once. It makes me view the world we live in differently. Fives and their ideas can often be thought of as quite mad to begin with or just plain weird but their ability to focus in on those ideas and to investigate and play with them is what brings them to their extraordinary insights and what can make them into thought leaders, or tech leaders or scientific leaders or, in the case of Laurie Anderson, part of the artistic avant-garde as a conceptual artist. What Fives have to say is almost always interesting even if the rest of us may not always understand it. They have the ability to make us think because they think and they teach us to think out of the box, to view things differently and then, as a result, to understand them differently. I think this is the great role of Fives in this world - to shift the gears in how we see things, how we understand things and then, as a result, the capacity of what we can achieve as a species. However Fives have to make sure that their life does not become an exercise in mental construction and deconstruction, a disappearing down the rabbit hole of ever more elaborate theories that beget yet more so that they disconnect from reality and the physical here and now entirely. Too much thinking, especially if not channeled, can take us into some very dark places as all of us surely know, whether we are a Five or not.
