When Seven goes to One

The Direction of Disintegration for the Seven is to One which means that when Sevens are under stress or pressure they act out behaviours of average to unhealthy Ones. Sevens are freedom-loving and so do not take well to any restrictions imposed upon their lifestyle (we may all relate to this at the current time!) They like a wide variety of experiences and have a low boredom threshold so fill their lives with activity. The more anxious they become the more they ramp up their level of activity, increasingly acting on impulse and so easily over-stretching themselves. They then realise they need to reign themselves in and so try to exert some self-control but this only rubs them up the wrong way. Doing what they feel they should do, instead of what they want to do, goes against the grain of their fun-loving nature and only makes them frustrated and resentful and they end up rebelling against themselves - often by doing more of whatever it is they were trying to refrain from doing. As their anxiety increases further and they feel that what they need is slipping further and further away from them, they become impatient and at the same time perfectionistic. They demand that others cater to their needs and impulses immediately but, instead of being appreciative of their efforts, they are critical and sarcastic. No-one gets it quite right and nothing is good enough. Their frustration increases to an intolerance of others and a bitterness that no-one can provide for their needs satisfactorily. If challenged about their out of control lifestyle they respond angrily with a rigid refusal to change course.
