How do Ones experience their experience?

Ones are concerned with right and wrong, good and bad and, as such, strive to uphold standards and morals. They can be relied upon to do the right thing because their personality does not allow them to do otherwise. They can be conscientious to a fault, constantly interrogating themselves as to the 'right' course of action, what 'should' be done and aiming to always be fair and just. This creates a certain pressure on Ones. Whereas other types might be able to relax and not worry too much about such things, Ones are deeply invested in being above reproach. As a result Ones can be serious, perfectionistic and judgemental. They can feel that they are the only people who care about such things and, therefore, that the responsibility for maintaining standards and holding the higher ground falls to them. Sometimes they begrudge this and it can make them tetchy, moody and angry although, for a One, anger is 'wrong' and so their anger is controlled and manifests more as impatience and resentment with other people for not 'doing things properly' or falling short in their responsibilities. The important thing to remember is that Ones are as hard on themselves as they are with others. They are trying to do what they believe is right (even if sometimes, to others, they go too far) and they are capable of making great personal sacrifices in the pursuit of it. However, as we can see from the world right now, we need the One's gifts of moral clarity, objectivity and responsibility if we want to live in civilised societies where there is fairness and justice for everyone.
