The Referee

The Nine with the Eight wing has been called 'The Referee'. As we saw in the last post, the Nine and Eight are in many ways in direct opposition to each other which makes for a subtype that can be contradictory and difficult to understand. In this case, Nine being the basic Type, we see more of a leaning towards harmony and peace than in the Eight with the Nine wing. So healthy people of this subtype combine the willpower and endurance of the Eight with the gentleness of the Nine and are easygoing, good-natured and receptive. They can assert themselves when needed but do not generally promote themselves although they may have many talents. They are sensual, instinctive and grounded and generally have a 'mellowness' and a comforting quality about them as they accept people for who they are. They are sociable with often a dry sense of humour and work well in an arena where they can use their natural negotiating skills or help people in some way.
