The Light

One of the attractions for me of the Enneagram is that it is not simply a personality typology system that says 'this is who we are'. It shows us who we can be. It does this because it reveals the very specific gifts of the types and also the specific paths of development. And for each type that path points towards a certain other type so you have an embodiment, an example, in that other type, of what that development looks like. As a result it is not abstract. With a greater awareness of what you have to offer the world, an understanding of where to focus your energies and in what specific way you will develop, you gain direction. This acts as a sort of light that calls you with its glowing. And in these dark times it is more important than ever to find that light.
