The Five: A gift for clarity of thought

The Five is the Type that likes to dig down deep into things to understand how they work and find out what is going on. They have an insatiable curiosity which leads to a lot of questions - in particular 'Why?' They are fascinated by what they don't know so, in a sense, are always pushing out into the void beyond knowing. By seeking to know and to understand they can often become experts in their particular field, pushing boundaries and making new discoveries along the way or developing insights that influence our way of seeing things. There is an intensity to the Five with their power of thought and capacity to focus leading them to be some of our most innovative and visionary thinkers.

However, this can also be the source of some of the Five's greatest problems. Their capacity for thinking, a fascination with the unknown and imagination of possibilities can become a challenge for them to deal with. Their over-active minds leave nothing alone and they can get caught up in their thoughts, ideas and speculations. Their minds, without limits, can also lead them to disconnect completely from reality and/or take them into some very dark places. They may become destabilised or fearful of what they see. As we saw with the Seven in my previous post, we can see that our privileges - our gifts - bring with them a certain liability which can become a burden if there is a lack of awareness and management of them.
