Something about Sevens

Sevens have been called the 'spark plugs' of the Enneagram. This is because they are vivacious, responsive and enthusiastic. They have lively, agile minds and enjoy the pleasures of life. They love their freedom, are thirsty for experience and will go out of their way to try... well, if not quite everything then a lot of things. And when they enjoy something they want more of it. Needless to say Sevens can feel frustrated at any limitations to their lifestyle and when they are less present they can become impatient and demanding, self-centred and scattered, engaging in increasingly manic activity which can eventually lead to despair or emotional collapse. However, at their best, healthy Sevens are practical, productive and prolific. They are good at getting projects off the ground because they are energisers, inspiring others with their enthusiasm. But the real gift of Sevens is their ability to spread joy, to bring light to dark places. So whilst we may not be able to choose the situation we find ourselves in right now with the coronavirus lockdown, we can choose our attitude towards it. Sevens are naturally positive so if we don't have any Sevens around us to brighten up the situation then we need to look to the Seven part in us to tap into some positive energy and spread around a little of that light. Because it will help.
