King Charles III has been ascribed a few different Enneagram Types on social media but the Enneagram Institute has long since believed he is a One and I agree so let's look at why.
Healthy Ones are conscientious, objective and are concerned with doing things correctly. The One is called 'The Reformer' because they see how things could be done better, how they should be done and often have a strong sense of mission. This leads them to be passionate about their causes and what they believe in. They are serious about their involvements and are able to delay their own gratification for the greater good.
I think he has a Nine Wing although I have not seen his wing specifically mentioned. So why do I think he has a Nine Wing? Healthy Ones with a Nine Wing are described by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson in their book 'The Wisdom of the Enneagram' as 'highly discerning, wise and civilised. They can be scholarly and erudite, maintaining a dispassionate philosophical stance that focuses on long-range concerns - the 'big' picture. They can have an introverted, reclusive quality about them, seeking relief from the 'maddening crowd' often in quiet, natural settings. They are emotionally reserved but generous, kind and considerate, generally loving nature, animals and innocence wherever they find it. They wish to improve things but with a gentler, more detached touch than other Ones'.
So this is interesting because in my previous post I looked at his mother Queen Elizabeth II who was typed as a Nine with a One Wing. So they have certain similarities and share a number of traits but their motivation is different. She was more of a unifier and a peacemaker whereas he is more of an educator and a reformer but they are not so very different either - both being essentially conscientious and kind and able to put duty above themselves.
