'God says 'I have only you"'.

- Archbishop Desmond Tutu

There is something so intimate in these words from the late South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The meaning of God may be different to all of us but what we focus on when we talk about God can reveal a lot about who we are and where our priorities lie and it is interesting where the focus lies in this statement. By saying 'I have only you' the attention is on you, it is not on God. This is very Two - the focus on the other - and by Desmond Tutu focussing on God's paying attention to the other, he is acknowledging the importance and the preciousness of the individual (in God's eyes) and the relationship in which they are being held to Him. Relationship is a key focus of the Two - not just the relationship with a partner, but the relationship between friends, with work colleagues, with pets, with a neighbour, with God... Twos are interested in the space between things, how we are in relationship to... well, everyone and everything. As a result they are often able to express it exquisitely. It is worth noting how many singer/songwriters are Twos - Stevie Wonder, Lionel Ritchie, Dolly Parton - all of whom have successfully articulated and sung about relationships, often specifically love - the other central concern of the Two.
