The Nine : A gift for acceptance

Nines are easy-going and stable, good at holding space for others and accepting of people as they are. They want everyone to get along and will fit in and accommodate themselves. As a result people do not feel judged by them and are comfortable and reassured around them.

Needless to say, however, this can also cause problems for the Nine. They can find themselves going along with others, saying 'yes' when they really mean 'no'. If they do this too much they may find themselves leading a life that isn't really theirs. It can also mean they stay with people or in situations that are not working for them, or they may even put up with behaviour that they shouldn't. Accepting people and situations as they are can also mean they don't try to improve things, stand up against something or assert themselves where they should. It can also mean that they don't put in the necessary energy to further themselves or bother to develop themselves - which in turn means that they may not recognise or access their potential and their gifts go untapped. It is only by sometimes saying 'no' and rising up against the status quo that we evolve and progress and change happens. Acceptance of the self and others is a wonderful thing but Nines' need to be careful that they don't shortchange themselves.
