The Direction of Disintegration for the Five is to Seven so when the Five is under pressure or stressed they act out some of the behaviours of the average to unhealthy Seven. Fives respond to the world by gathering knowledge. Only when they have have studied and investigated and gained enough knowledge in a particular area do they feel confident enough to go out into the world and participate in it. However, as they become more anxious, this desire to know causes them to retreat into a cerebral labyrinth of over-thinking and over-analysing and the move to Seven can be seen as a releasing of the intense mental pressure that has built up. Fives are normally focussed on a few areas of interest but the move to Seven sees them becoming involved in, and stimulated by, all sorts of different things and so losing their focus. They are increasingly restless, their attention and energy becoming distracted, dispersed and manic as they lurch from hyper-activity one minute to fearful isolation the next. There is an urgency which translates into impulsiveness and impatience. They start to indulge in escapist behaviours but with an intensity that can be disturbing to others and if anyone questions them about their actions they can be provocative or childish in their responses. Eventually they lose control, becoming not only erratic but reckless.
