The Virtue of the Seven, as with all the other Types, must be looked at in the context of the Passion and the Passion of the Seven is Gluttony. Sevens are enthusiasts for experiences and pleasure and gluttony means, in short, the desire for more. Sevens can never have too much of a good thing. If they like something then they will be back for more. If they enjoy an experience they want more of it and not only that but they will want to add different experiences to that experience. The problem is that after a while, this compulsion for more means that they are never satisfied. They are always onto the next thing in their heads. If they are having a great holiday then they are thinking about how they can have more of it which may mean thinking about how they can extend it or planning the next one. The excited, giddy feeling this gives them is how they get stuck in their Passion - always thinking of the next thing which leads to a lurching from one thing to another whilst failing to appreciate what they have because they are never present to it. Once they have an awareness of their behaviour and start to understand how they are operating however, they start to become much more measured, less manic and more grounded in the now. Hence the Virtue of the Seven is Sobriety. With this sobriety they do not run after everything that appeals to them in a bid to keep themselves distracted or entertained. As a result they are able to think before they act, be present to what they are doing, or what they have, and so really appreciate the moment.
