The passion of the Eight is Lust. Lust is usually thought of in sexual terms but with the Eight the lust, though it may also be sexual, really describes their need for a certain intensity and an 'upping the ante'. Eights are often described as being larger than life because they have a lot of energy, put themselves out into the world and really exert themselves upon it. This lustful approach to life, at it's best, is dynamic, daring and gung-ho and really gets things done. When caught up in their passion however, this lustful attitude pushes everything too far. Eights tend to overdo things to the extent that they can be constantly pushing limits. In fact Eights find limits by going over them. Naturally this creates friction with those around them as they throw their weight around, become overly dominant and, intent on doing what they want with little regard for anyone else, step over boundaries and ignore rules. When they become very unhealthy and in thrall to their passion, they respect no limits at all, becoming dictatorial and tyrannical, wielding their energy and power over others with a ruthlessness that is truly frightening. As a result of becoming completely lawless, they alienate almost everyone so that if the law does ever catch up with them they can expect the full force of it to be wielded in just retribution. The Eight, so fearful of being weak, vulnerable and powerless, now finds him or herself completely at the mercy of others. And so they become what they most feared - vulnerable and controlled by those others who, having been pushed so far by the ruthless behaviour of the Eight, now have every right to treat them mercilessly.
