Don Riso and Russ Hudson call the Six 'The Loyalist' due to their being the most loyal of all the Types. But Sixes do not give their loyalty blindly. They are looking for security and so are on the lookout for things they can trust, that they can believe in and count on. As a result their antenna is alert to what can't be trusted, what might go wrong, what is bullshit instead of real. This means they often have issues around trust to the extent that they can lack confidence not only in other people and things, but also in themselves. However, if they overcome their suspicions and decide that something or someone can be trusted, they stand in that energy and will fight for people or causes that they believe in. They often hold groups together, going the extra mile to ensure that what needs to be done gets done, building alliances and engaging people in their efforts which, because they are egalitarians, are not simply about furthering their own interests but making sure everyone has a voice or a chance to play their part. They often work well within structures where they can feel supported by a framework - such as the military, or the law. This loyalty to others, to structures, allegiances and beliefs makes them committed and valuable workers but it can also prove to be a challenge. They can over-commit themselves and then become anxious about delivering on all their commitments because, being so loyal, they do not want to let anyone down. This loyalty - admirable as it is - also means that they can sometimes stay within punishing situations - for example in a gruelling job or unhappy marriage - much longer than may be good for them.
